it / Re-reading è un progetto fotografico di Giovanni Longo realizzato utilizzando vecchie foto trovate in un album. Le immagini rappresentano in gran parte lo stesso artista da bambino nel suo ambiente familiare. L’autore, attraverso la pratica del “tag”, arriva a rileggere la sua infanzia riportando fantasiose descrizioni che enfatizzano gli atti creativi spontanei del bambino. Si viene a creare un ironico archivio di scatti che punta l’attenzione sul fondamentale momento storico individuale che rappresenta l’età infantile, per la formazione della propria personalità.
en / Re-reading is a photographic project by Giovanni Longo realized with the use of old pictures found in a photo album. Most of the times, the photographs show the artist himself as a child in his family environment. The author, through the process of tagging, intends to go over his childhood bringing back to memory some fantasy descriptions which emphasize the spontaneous and creative actions of the child. So he gives birth to an ironic archive of snaps focusing the audience’s attention on that individual and historical moment of the juvenile age, so fundamental for the making of someone own personality.
