Giovanni Longo (born in Locri, 1985) is a sculptor, visual artist and art director based in Italy. After studying at the Academy of Arts in Reggio Calabria, he takes part in international residencies at M50 in Shanghai and the cultural department of Montrouge in Paris. His work is exhibited in numerous events in Italy and abroad, including: the 54th Venice Biennale (Academies Pavilion); Kunstenfestival Watou in Belgium; Wood Mood Valcucine in London and New York; the Jeune Création Européenne Biennial in France, Poland, Spain and Denmark. In 2016, the MARCA in Catanzaro dedicates an institutional solo exhibition to his work, curated by Marco Meneguzzo, while in 2022 he presents a project for the Lorenzo de’ Medici Institute in Florence, curated by Spela Zidar, and wins the YICCA International Art Prize at Matalon Foundation in Milan. More recently, he was awarded the Inside Art Special Prize at the Talent Prize 2025, held at the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea. He currently lives in Rome and works with several galleries, museums, cultural institutions and tech companies.
