In occasione della seconda edizione del Re-birth-day, la prima giornata mondiale della rinascita, (galleria +) OltreDimore è lieta di annunciare l’evento KAIROS. It’s time to change and re-birth a cura di Raffaele Quattrone.

it / Il Re-birth-day è parte del progetto Il Terzo Paradiso creato dall’artista Michelangelo Pistoletto e cittadellarte e rappresenta una nuova prospettiva che vuole coinvolgere tutti senza alcuna eccezione nello sforzo quotidiano di creare il Terzo Paradiso che è un mondo con un reale equilibrio tra natura e artificio.
Nell’Antica Grecia kairos era la parola usata per descrivere una particolare condizione sia del tempo che dell’azione . Era il momento giusto per fare qualcosa senza esitare o rinviare ancora. Nel periodo storico nel quale viviamo abbiamo bisogno di guardarci allo specchio. Dobbiamo guardarci negli occhi . Dobbiamo trovare in noi stessi il potere e la responsabilità di cambiare avvicinandoci agli altri, dando priorità al rispetto per gli altri, alla natura, a coloro che nasceranno. Bisogna ritrovare quell’equilibrio al quale il Terzo Paradiso ci invita. Solo con questa nuova forza possiamo ri-nascere. Solo con questa nuova forza possiamo cambiare il mondo.

Per indicare la fine di questo periodo che potremmo definire ciclico, perché si va avanti come abbiamo sempre fatto, Giovanni Longo porta in mostra lo scheletro dell’Uroboro realizzato con alcuni legnetti raccolti in una spiaggia vicino casa sua. L’Uroboro è un simbolo molto antico che rappresenta un serpente che si morde la coda simboleggiando così la natura ciclica delle cose, la teoria dell’eterno ritorno e tutto quello che opera in cicli che ricominiciano non appena finiscono. Il fatto che Longo rappresenta (anche in un senso molto ironico) lo scheletro dell’Uroboro è un invito a rompere la concezione ciclica e quindi quasi passiva del tempo. Abbiamo bisogno di riprendere il controllo del corso del tempo per ripristinare le nostre azioni. Proseguendo con il tema della rinascita, Sabrina Muzi allestisce un’installazione che rimanda simbolicamente al cordone ombelicale. Congiunzione indispensabile per la nutrizione e la sopravvivenza, il cordone ombelicale è anche un mezzo di scambio e comunicazione. Grazie ad esso nasciamo con un senso di attaccamento, appartenenza e legame con l’altro. Dopo il taglio del cordone ombelicale e quindi con la perdita dello stato iniziale di armonia siamo alla ricerca di una nuova dimensione armonica che non può prescindere da quel senso di appartenenza e di legame con gli altri che abbiamo introiettato nei mesi nei quali eravamo nel grembo materno. L’installazione, realizzata con vestiti usati appartenuti a diverse persone che l’artista ha raccolto, rievoca il senso di inscindibilità tra gli esseri, per trasformarsi in oggetto ‘festoso’ e rituale che accomuna i corpi. Roberta Cavallari e Lucia Anselmi hanno realizzato un video che documenta la performance realizzata a Bologna in cui Roberta Cavallari staziona nella città di Bologna portando in braccio uno specchio su cui si riflettono natura, architettura, persone. Lo specchio è simbolico, così come gli acquiloni a specchio (che le artiste progettano graficamente), rappresenta libertà e scoperta, ma anche strumento di ricerca e di verità con cui si amplifica e si eleva la conoscenza. Lo specchio è una delle caratteristiche della pratica artistica di Michelangelo Pistoletto per il quale si tratta di “una protesi ottica che il cervello usa per chiedere e conoscere”. Lo specchio in questo lavoro riflette la natura e in questo modo noi nella natura come parte di un futuro e di un progetto comune. L’evento includerà anche un reading poetico di Ylenia Giacobone.

en / In the Ancient Greece kairos was the word to describe a particular condition both of the time and the action. It was the right time to do something because it was no longer time to hesitate or postpone. We need to look ourselves in the mirror. We need to look ourselves into the eyes. We need to find in ourselves the power to change and responsibility that will bring us closer to the others giving precedence to the respect for others, for nature, for those who will be born. You have to re-find the balance to which the Terzo Paradiso calls us. Only with this new force we can be re-born. Only with this new force we can change the world.

To indicate the end of this period that we could say cyclical because it goes on as it has always done, Giovanni Longo shows the skeleton of the uroboros made with some twigs collected on a beach near his home. The uroboros is a very ancient symbol that represents a serpent eating its own tail thus symbolizing the cyclical nature of things, the theory of the eternal return and all that operate in cycles that begin anew as soon as they end. The fact that Longo represents (also in a very ironic sense) the skeleton of the uroboros is an invitation to break the cyclical and then almost passive conception of time. We need to take back control over time to reset our actions. Following with the theme of the re-birth Sabrina Muzi sets up an installation that symbolically recalls the umbilical cord. As a connection essential for the nutrition and the survival the umbilical cord is also a means of exchange and communication. Thanks to it we are born with a sense of attachment, belonging and bonding with each other. After cutting the umbilical cord and then with the loss of the initial state of harmony we are looking for a new harmonic dimension that we cannot do without that sense of belonging and connection with others that we have introjected in the months when we were in the womb. The installation made with clothes used by many people and collected by the artist, recalls a sense of union between people to become a joyous object and a ritual joining the corps. Roberta Cavallari and Lucia Anselmi created a video showing the performance in which Roberta Cavallari brings around the city of Bologna a mirror in which the nature, the people and the buildings are seen. The mirror is symbolic, as well as the kites made with mirror (that the artists designed graphically), represents freedom and discovery but also a research and truth tool with which we can amplifie and elevate knowledge. The work is one of the characteristics of the artistic practice by Michelangelo Pistoletto for which they are “an optical prosthesis that the brain uses to ask and get to know”. The mirror in this work reflects the nature and in this way us in the nature as a part of a common future and project. The event will include also a poetry reading by Ylenia Giacobone.
