The exhibition of finalists for the Luigi Candiani Prize 2024, dedicated to the established artists category, opens on Saturday, 7 September.

The theme of this second edition is ‘Journey Within the Self’, interpreted through the various possibilities contemporary art offers, from painting to sculpture, photography to installation, video art to performance.

“There exists a constellation in which the entire history of the world converges into a single point: humanity. Past, present and future come together to narrate an ever-accelerating universe, a temporality where it seems there is no room for anything but the constant desire for something other than what we already possess. What direction will the hyper-productivity in which we are ensnared take us? Can we awaken from this phantasmagoria? There is a time—our time—that inevitably calls us to reassemble the fragmentation that surrounds us. A time in which our view of the world breaks away from the sharp and dizzying sense of the commodification of our lives, and turns toward an interiority that finally moves according to its own rhythm. Each moment is the time of now, the unstoppable revolution breaking through with lightning speed, which may, for the first time, render us who we have always been.”
